You can only stay in the US if you can change to another lawful status. As a UK citizen, the only work-authorized status that might be available, though difficult, is O-1 for extraordinary ability aliens. If the company won't start the permanent residence process for you, unfortunately you have very limited options.

just got my GC. Now if I contract for a security clearance job, like Armed forces, or Defense related one through the same employer that sponsored by GC, CAN I BE ELIGIBLE for a waiver of the 5 years waiting period -to what extent is is waived ....100% or only part of the 5 years wait, if at all .
My Company is a US Defense Vendor .
Can someone pt me to the right place where all this is clarified.
Also would the same kind of waiver apply if you work for a Govt agency or it is strictly defense...
are there some other ways where GC-> Citz can be expedited

11,100 H-1B visas remain of the 65,000 quota with 1500 more claimed over the last week. That's a moderate increase from the roughly 1200 used weekly over the last month. I'm pushing my exhaustion target up a week. The master's cap of 20,000 will be reached sometime this week, almost exactly the date I predicted several months ago. The 400 visas claimed weekly in this category will presumably shift to the general H-1B cap and that could accelerate depletion of those visas. That being the case, we could very well see the cap reached next month.

Do you know how long it takes for the SWA order to be posted after a job order has been requested with the SWA?
Is it immediate or does it take some time for the SWA to process the job order and then post it?
Also do you know where we can see the job order after it has been posted? Is there a public site where we can see the jobs?

Guys,
I am at present on non-cap h1b and i have asked an employer to file for a new caped h1b in april 2008.
I have tentative plans of going to india in March end . In case i can't make it before april 1st back to US, can my new emplyer file for my New h1b while i am out side US...???
Is there any rule that, lates i-94 needs to be sent while aplying for h1b..???

I find that just importing my Swift3D output into Flash and then exporting it again I can reduce file size from 50 kb to 5kb. and usually this is good enough.

You can status will be Adjustment of Status ( AOS ) but cant work . IYou need a APO if you want to travel . If you want to work you need an EAD .
Check with attorney .This is the essence of mail which i got from my attorney when asked regarding my son status
